If you have 8 days free, here is a magnificent touring to be crossed under the sun of the Alpes-Maritimes by going of refuge to refuge with stages where the elevation remain reasonable but where progress will be made on little frequented passages, allowing an approach of the wild fauna of mountains.

Attention however on the passages of the passes of the first part of this route which require the use of specific equipment - cramps and ice axes in the beginning of season. (The access to the refuge of Valmasque being dangerous in winter and in spring) do not hesitate to inquire in the refuge of Cougourde before starting .

Hardly 2 hours are enough to finish the first stage and it can be made having made a short journey to reach the parking lot of the Meanness of Boréon.

Having gone out of the forest, we discover the next day the Lake of Trécolpas and we continue, possibly on névés with the adequate equipment, up to the Step of the Misers...
