This is possibly the hardest stage of all. If time is not a factor, it is possible to include the Punta Alta in your itinerary, a mountain peak of over 3,000 metres. Take the trail that descends slightly between the large stone masses until reaching an open plain and the l'Estany Grande de Colieto is behind you. Continue straight ahead towards the saddle (going off to the left would bring you to the Port de Colomers). After walking for a few metres leave the trail leading to the Punta Alta on the right and follow the markings around the right hand side of the ravine. At an altitude of approximately 2,600 metres, you find large blocks of stone, which continue all the way as far as the saddle...
